Job Summary

This position will reside in Legal Operations and is responsible for supporting the Legal Operations function. Interface with internal and external customers and oversee all aspects of the e-billing platform, including the review of data and the creation of reporting analytics, all to execute our goals of reducing legal spend while improving quality, value, forecasting and predictability. This position also supports other Legal Operations projects. This position requires a detail–oriented person with a customer service focus.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain ownership of the e-billing platform and be the Company’s “go-to” person for system configuration, administration, user support and training.
  • Ownership of the Legal Department’s Outside Counsel Guidelines and ensuring compliance with said guidelines
  • Work directly with managing attorneys to better understand relevant spend and improve reporting by creating reports and analytics
  • Manage the law firm and vendor onboarding process to Zimmer Biomet’s e-billing and matter management system. Develop understanding of Zimmer Biomet’s database reporting capabilities; including an understanding of what metrics we possess or can develop
  • Review key billing and matter data sets to identify trends across functional activities; Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist in reviewing and reporting on budgets, deadlines and matter status.
  • Support the Legal Operations team in updating and managing metrics and reporting, and providing the subsequent data to various stakeholders.
  • Respond to law firm and vendor queries as appropriate.
  • Monitor and reconcile invoices between e-billing and AP systems.
  • Analyze invoice rejections and/or reductions, resolve issues, coordinate and process revisions or adjustments.
Oversee timekeeper management, including new timekeeper requests and approvals

  • Ability to present complex information in an accurate and persuasive manner to all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management in cross-functional project; understanding of developing, implementing, and enhancing processes (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint; high proficiency in Excel is required
Education/Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Additional education, preferred
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounts Payable-type role
  • Experience with Legal Tracker, or other mainstream matter management/eBilling platform
