The core of Storage Engineering Expert (NAS) role is to monitor, administer and support the core service technology infrastructure in tandem with our third party IT managed services partners and to act as a high-level expert who can address issues escalated from the operational team members. In this role you are required to have strong technical skill across multiple disciplines and strong desire to learn and apply designs, techniques, patterns and technologies while strengthening the team.
How You Will Make a Difference
- Providing technical support for storage hardware, software & virtual appliances supporting hosted application environments and managed services.
- Providing routine maintenance and upgrades to server hardware, including software updates and firmware releases.
- Possessing competence in documenting NAS administration and support efforts via ServiceNow, which includes troubleshooting methodology, work logs, and resolutions.
- Executing change management and audit processes consistently with documented procedures and generates a new process when there is not an existing process.
- Being responsible for the monitoring of storage systems, measuring system stability, availability and capacity performance via Logic Monitor, OCI and other metric reporting tools.
- Possessing competency in documenting NAS design decisions to resolve or prevent prior historical issues in environment.
- Coordinating with onsite IT (and non-IT) staff members for monitoring, troubleshooting and daily production/operations.
- Developing, documenting, and standardizing preventative maintenance routines to system availability and performance standards on production systems.
- Developing technical solutions using supportable methodologies that adhere to departmental standards and conventions.
- Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents and problems within defined service level agreements.
- Installing, configuring and maintaining storage hardware inclusive of physical and virtual tape libraries or drives along with disk storage targets.
- Performing activities related to install, configure and managing NAS devices and fiber switches.
- Executing FC zoning for NON-Prod and Production storage volumes.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of applicable experience.
- 5+ years of experience in back up & storage "NAS" area, preferably in a storage engineer or administrator role.
- Experience with distributed computing environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of performance and tuning of storage systems and network equipment to support NAS systems.
- Ability to demonstrate being effective working independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to communicate clearly to customers and IT leadership.
- Able to deliver capacity planning, life cycle management and general administration.
- Able to execute local and cross-site replication of DR data.
- Ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
